OUR METHODOLOGY

All of the voice teachers at the studio have been trained at the Lovetri Institute, and teach using the principles of Somatic Voicework.

Somatic Voicework is a vocal pedagogy method that was developed by Jeanie Lovetri, and was one of the first methodologies to take seriously the needs and demands of singing contemporary commercial music (including pop, r&b, jazz, musical theater, country, rock, and blues music).

Drawing from research from laryngology, speech pathology, and voice science, Somatic Voicework offers techniques and exercises to develop the full functionality and range of the voice, empowering students with practical tools to create the sounds that they like without strain or tension.

It’s a practical method to fall in love with your own voice, and to feel good on the path of development.

Somatic Voicework also emphasizes singing as a whole-body experience, and uses singing as a pathway to integrate the mind, body, emotions, and spirit. It is appropriate and useful for all ages.
